2009 FAB FLEENOR HIGHLIGHTS

The Fleenor Family 2009 Things to Remeber:

I know, I know it is way into 2010, but I was just thinking for documentations sake that I should revisit 2009. We were very thankful to bring in the new year, keeping with tradition, at the Benham cabin! We just love to start the new year with friends and family establishing new memories to build on! Little did we know what would come of this new year .... the milestones for each child, the new pets, the family expansion and the great adventures. I am left as usual wondering how a year could go by so fast and the great things we experienced already slipping thru my memories. I am amazed at the growth of each child, the adaptations they have made as their lives have changed and developed and I hold tightly to this past year as a time of great family growth. God has blessed us richly, may this post be a proclamation of His goodness and His great love!

The Kids Highlights:

Eliza
- This year was her 3rd birthday - Her biggest birthday request was a purple cake and a trip to the salem donut shop - easy birthday i must say!

Eliza at the donut shop with her two best buddies, Kade and Daisy.

Eliza's favorite toy of the year Polly Pockets

Eliza wore her aunt charissa's minnie mouse costume for halloween, i must say she was adorable!

Eliza began preschool in a class with 8 boys and 2 girls, she loves school!

Boone
- had many first with the year 2009- he joined the swim team, he was introduced to star wars, he started kindergarten, he learned to ride his bike without training wheels and he was able to ride the swings at the fair (finally!).

Boone as anakin on halloween!

Boone's 5th birthday party was a star wars party at the park.
We made light savors out of swimming noodles!

Boone was very proud to take off the training wheels, this was not an easy acheivement, it took many falls, tears, and lots of determination!

One of Boone's first swim meets, this makes mommy very happy!

Boone's first day of Kindergarten!

One of boone's favorite things
of this year was his 5 year old trip (i get to take each child when they turn 5 on a special trip). We went to gatlinburg with Lulu, Ridge (his best friend and cousin) and his mommy Melissa. We spent the day at the Wilderness Lodge in the Smokeys( a indoor water park) and one day at the aquarium. It was a 4 day trip playing around the city and enjoying our family!

Anna Clare:

Anna Clare turned 7 this year. Outside of spending time with friends and family and animals of all kinds, this year her new loves have become webkinz and music! She has also stuck to swimming and is doing well for her age group. Here are some of her highlights for the year:

For her birthday party we had a webkinz party. All her friends came and played games to earn kinzcash to create a unique room for their own webkinz!

With her aunt melissa introducing her to Mama Mia and the first grade girls love for Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, she became (in her world) the next rock star...

Her mommy couldn't be prouder of this:

ac swimming the 25 butterfly!

A first for anna clare was tee ball:

Halloween 2009 AC was a princess

I would s
ay that Anna Clare's overall best experience of the year was her first horseback trip. She got to finally ride a horse all by herself for an entire hour. I am certain she will never forget Cody.

Other great highlights were:

Spending easter at home, we haven't done that since boone was born!

A day at the Safari Park will never be forgotten!

The many camping
trips:

Hurricane with the Fairchilds Hanging Rock with simpson-vos' Hungry Mother with the McCays

Thanksgiving weekend in Knoxvill
e where we spent the day handing out goody bags at the bus station downtown!

Special visits by sweet friends and family:

SG came for AC's birthday

Cousin Catherine

Great Trips and Adventu
res:

A trip with Lulu to Wonder Works in gatlinbur -really the highlight was going with a group of Missionary Kids from our home church in Knoxville that my mom (lulu) was entertaining for the week. I don't have many pics from this weekend of all the kids together, but it was a special time of meeting people different from us that are so special and unique and experiencing new things with them.

A great day at the pumpkin patch with nana!

We went to Knoxville for the 4th of July and spent a fantastic day at Aunt Jenny's lake house with all our cousins!

Our 2nd annual overnight at the Mountain Lake Hotel:

Fun at the Salem Fair

Vacation with the Fleenors in North Carolina on Lake Lure at the end of July:

A ride on Uncle chris's boat
the kids really loved all the tubing! eliza and catherine loved being together

In August we went to the Benham cabin with the McCay family:

Tubing in the cool rivers is a favorite pastime!

A new tradition is daddy and kids overnight hiking trip on the big fat gap trail.

spending time up at the falls

We mostly love being around lulu and our cousins

In September we took a last second trip to Myrtle Beach, just m
e and the 4 kids! It was a super fun time!

Our biggest
endeavor this is year is the
beginning stages of remodeling our basement:

Our biggest mistake
this year was adopting this jack russell, cosmo. It is hard to say he was a mistake but if i am honest with myself it was, we just weren't ready for another dog. He was so cute, so snuggly and great with the kids, but he was a wonderer. He was constantly escaping, so we gave him to some friends so we can still see him.

The biggest surprise
this year is that my nephew Greyson came to live with us! This is my oldest brother, Greg, son. Greg died 4 years ago and we wanted to provide Greyson with some opportunities and support to help out his mother. The kids call him their brother and they are all very sweet together. Greyson is 11 and this summer will mark his 1 year anniversary with us!

HERES TO 2009

Hope you enjoyed the look back on 2009..... THE END!
